Fabulous functional fan April 20, 2007 Danielle Urschel 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I had this fan installed in my kitchen as part of a renovation in Jan 2007. I love its all-white surfaces because they disappear into my ceiling. All the finishes and the blades are completely smooth, so there are no decorative crevices to get grimy, and a simple wipe down is enough to keep it clean. The remote that comes with it controls every single feature--fan on/off/speed, light on/off/brightness and blade direction. Because of that, you can connect this fan to a simple switch and don't need to have fancy electrical work done to be able to control the light and fan separately. I have several other spots in the house that are going to get this same fan.
Excellent Fan May 30, 2008 R. Beach (Virginia USA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
The fan came packaged very well which from the start gave me a good impression of the quality of this product. The instructions are clear and concise and the quality of materials is good. The fan motor itself is pretty heavy and Minka Aire was nice enough to include a hook on the mounting plate for the sole purpose of hanging the motor during installation..very nice. The blades simply snap in and can be removed if necessary by releasing a hidden catch. The remote control is simple to use and each button makes sense as to what function is being activated . The light output is equivalent to a standard 100 watt bulb but the halogen bulb itself is tiny. (Make sure not to touch the bulb with bare hands because finger oils can cause premature bulb failure.) The light when turned on fades in nicely and on-off brightness can be varied. The fan is very quiet and moves a good amount of air. There does seem to be a bit of noticable fan hub runout on high speed but no fan wobble or vibration. I would recommend this fan.
Great fan and great buy June 13, 2009 xoxoxmm 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Comes complete: fan, light, remote. Fits with our rooms: smaller with lower ceilings (fan height is only 10 inches; span is only 42 inches). Very, very quiet; no vibrations or wobbling. Light dims. Remote controls 3 speeds and reverse and light on/off/dimming.
Quite nice November 14, 2005 Mr. G (Raleigh, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great fan, relatively easy to install -- even with the remote. The engine is extremely quiet, but the blades make quite a "whoosh" going through the air (presumably a function of the extremely wide blades or the fact that there are only three blades).
Only complaint is that it does not seem to integrate with a wall switch already wired for a separate light and fan. Not a big deal, though, because the remote is fantastic.
A fabulous fan December 28, 2007 PatrickHenryPDX 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This fan is extremely quiet and perfectly balanced. Additionally, the low speed is lower than I've seen with other fans, which makes it nice for gently moving air. On low, it almost noise free, and on higher speeds the noise is from the air moving, not the motor.
Installation was easy, the remote is nice, and the light dims in a continuously variable manner.
As another reviewer noted, the bulb does not give off tons of light (it can't compare to a 3, 4 or 5 bulb fixture that may have 300 watts of bulbs in it), so if you really need a lot of light that may be an issue. With that said, however, I would buy this unit anyway and find another way to put more light where you need it, since you won't be disappointed with the fan.
