Lead With A Bold Heart: 2026 Girls on the Run Coaches Needed

Inspire Confidence, Joy, and Resilience in Vermont Girls

We’re excited to share that we’re looking for volunteer coaches to help lead our spring programs! Our programs are all about inspiring girls to be confident, joyful, and resilient as they grow.

Our program is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program for 3rd through 8th grade girls. Over ten weeks, participants engage in fun, movement-filled lessons that help them build confidence, develop important life skills, form positive connections with peers, manage emotions, and stand up for themselves and others. As coaches, you’ll guide teams through interactive lessons and help make a lasting impact in their lives.

Our spring season kicks off the week of March 16th across the state. Teams meet twice a week for 90 minutes and end the program with one of two fun, noncompetitive 5K celebrations in Essex or Manchester, VT. It takes over 500 dedicated volunteer coaches to bring our programs to life, and we couldn’t do it without them!

No running experience is needed to coach. Just a big heart, enthusiasm, and a love of working with kids. We provide training and all the tools you need for a positive coaching experience! High school students are welcome to join as Junior Coaches, and all volunteers complete a background check. Please visit gotrvt.org/coach for full details or email info@girlsontherunvermont.org.

Statewide participant registration opens on Wednesday, February 18. More information about the program, registration, and a Participant Interest Form, can be found on the Girls on the Run Vermont’s website: gotrvt.org/programs
